It is part of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, together with three island territories in the Caribbean. The country is more commonly known as Holland, which is actually only a part of it. Its three largest cities are Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague, Amsterdam being its capital. The port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest port. Its people, language and culture are referred to as ‘Dutch’. The Netherlands is famous for its painters, windmills, clogs, tulip fields, cycling, romantic candlelit cafés and flat lands.
Amsterdam is among the most vibrant and entertaining cities of Europe. The capital city attracts lot of visitors that is why people keep coming in record numbers. You will fall in love with its adorable streets, picturesque canals, blooming flowers everywhere and just so many bikes. A city tour will take you to city’s top attractions like Dam Square, the Royal Palace, Nieuwmarkt, and the infamous Red Light District.
On second day of our itinerary we will be visiting Giethoorn, a car-free village in the northeastern Dutch province of Overijssel. It’s known for its boat-filled waterways, footpaths, bicycle trails and centuries-old thatched-roof houses. Explore a picturesque landscape of quiet canals, wooden bridges, and Dutch homes. The village has no main roads, so you will enjoy a boat trip cruising through Giethoorn’s canals.
This day you will take a half day tour to Zaanse Schans from Amsterdam. During your visit observe traditional cheese making processes; marvel at the interior of a working windmill; try on some authentic wooden clogs.
Today you will proceed to The Hague, enroute visit Keukenhof Gardens – one of the world’s largest flower gardens, if season permits. It is widely known for its tulips, and it also features numerous other flowers, including hyacinths, daffodils, lilies, roses, carnations and irises. It is mostly likely to open from March 23 to May 14 every year.
This day is occupied with a visit to Madurodam. It is a miniature park and a major tourist attraction in The Hague, Netherlands. The park is located in the Scheveningen district of the city and features miniature 1 – 25 scale model replicas of the most famous Dutch castles, industrial projects and public buildings.
